Feasibility Analysis and Modelling of MgB2 Superconducting Electrical Power Machines

This project provides a feasibility analysis of high temperature superconducting
(HTS) machines for future aircraft, based on the latest MgB2 superconductors.
Magnesium diboride (MgB2) superconducting wires enable the design of lightweight
superconducting machines for future electric aircraft propulsion. Epoch
Wires is developing fine-filament MgB2 cables, coupled with small twist
Pitch to minimise AC loss, and help superconducting machines to maximise their efficiency for designing future aircraft.
