Combining two or more wires into a single product makes it possible to obtain wires exhibiting unique properties. A numerous combination of wires solve a wide variety of industrial problems. For instance, aluminium wires can be wrapped with copper wire to improve the conductivity, steel wires can be encapsulated with aluminium to improve the atmospheric resistance and to reduce the weight.

Electrically conductive internal wires such as copper and aluminium can be wrapped with stainless steel and nickel base alloys to improve the corrosion resistance.
